Kimberley Petty currently serves as the Vice President of Nursing Operations at Medical City Las Colinas (LCMC) overseeing daily operations for clinical nursing services. Kim has been in the HCA family since 1995 when she started her nursing career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the Kansas City, Missouri market. After obtaining her Associate Degree in Nursing from Park University in Missouri, Kim relocated with her family to Texas, where she accepted a position as PCU manager in Denton, Texas in 1999. While there, the hospital migrated to computer documentation where Kim received extensive informatics training in the development of the Meditech Patient Care Systems. During her tenure, she was promoted to the role of Infection Control Manager and Quality/PI analyst, obtaining her infection control certification through the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and serving as a member of the Denton County Emergency Preparedness Team.
In 2003, Kim joined the team at LCMC as the Information Technology Clinical Analyst, responsible for nursing documentation systems; and in 2006 became the clinical educator for the facility, establishing partnerships with the local Health Science Programs in Irving and Coppell Independent School Districts, as well as with local community college nursing programs. As a result of those partnerships, Kim has served on the Healthcare Advisory Board for the Jack E. Singley Health Science Program in Irving ISD since 2007.
Kim received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing with Summa Cum Laude honors from University of Texas at Arlington and is currently in UTA’s Nursing Master’s Program.
In her spare time, Kim loves to write, but for pleasure only, and is considered LCMC’s resident poet by her nursing peers.
